AHC Consulting created Connected Women St. Louis (R) to build on the energy and enthusiam at the first St. Louis Business Journals Women's Conference in 2006. Held in conjunction with the nationally recognized Coro Leadership Center-St. Louis, Connected Women is a series of events designed for the professional woman to network, be inspired and reach their full potential. The highly popular series has connected women across sectors, and attracted key sponsorships from the St. Louis Business Journal, the Boeing Company, Olin Business School at Washington University,SSM Healthcare and Right Management. Speakers have included the founder of Build-A-Bear Workshop, creator of Emerging Media Department at Southwest Airlines and the head of SSM Healthcare.
With the St. Louis Rams and the St. Louis Rams Foundation, Allison Collinger worked to create the Healthy Youth Partnership in conjunction with the Greater St. Louis Community Foundation and Mayor Francis Slay's Childhood Obesity Initiative. Healthy Youth Partnership currently involves 75 organizations in the bi-state region and is focused on advancing the health of children and families living in St. Louis or the Metro East region. The purpose of the project is to support collaboration among the member organizations and facilitate the development, exchange and implementation of programs and practices that promote optimal health outcomes.
AHC Consulting worked with the Spirit of St. Louis Marathon and Family Fitness Weekend to reposition the organization. The project goals were to build a more powerful profile, increase participation, engage new sponsors and find new ways to contribute to the community conversations regarding healthy lifestyles. Along with board visioning, a series of focus group were held to solicit ideas from community experts in fitness, marketing and philanthropy as well as parents of elementary-aged children. Through the focus groups, it was determined that the word "marathon" intimidated many people. Therefore, the new name, "GO! St. Louis" accompanied by the tagline, "Inspiring fitness one step at a time," was adopted to reflect a broader, more inclusive mission. As a result of the recommendations and implementation assistance, GO! St. Louis has repositioned itself in the market, created alliances with faith-based and non-profit organizations and exceeded 2007 participation totals by 40%. http://gostlouis.org
